Summary, By Marwan Saadeh

It all started with a list of non-harmful insults on tumblr, posted by the user "iamteenagefeminist" which drew the author's and the people's attention. Still these non-oppressive insults lacked the purpose and the resolve of starting a revolution. According to Rachael oppression can't be combated with niceness. You have to fight hard in order to get what you desire. The aim should be equality which means the destruction of systematic marginalisation and privilege. Mixing up the term niceness with goodness is a huge problem. You can be nice, but still not be good this tactic has been used by oppressors for ages according to the author. Oppressors reinforce their domination under the guise of being nice. The priveleges given to certain ethnic groups, and people who possess a certain stature, and class must all be canceled in order to achieve equality and gain the basic rights which are being stolen from others who do not possess these charecteristics. Finally, this revolution isn't about being polite. It has to be mean, strong, and firm to achieve its goals. Rachael concluded that these beliefs which were imprinted on the oppressed(POC, Homosexuals, Women...etc) must be removed. They have to fight back, not sit back and be "nice".

  1. Check moodle for grade. You dont have a main idea and you start off with too specific an idea and don't quote. This text is not about revolution. Dont use her terms: Systematic marginalization. The text is more than just about revolution but the question of social justice. Your body needs to be more accurate.

  2. Dear Ms. Adra, thank you for your comment. You are right I didn't quote, however I did mention the importance of equality and the cancellation of privileges, ie: social justice, thought I had it all covered. Thx again.
