Summary, karim kharsa

A tumbler user "iamateenagefeminist" posted a list of oppressive insults, that made the blogger Rachel write a blog regarding how she is against oppression. In Rachel's opinion, she doesn't agree with comments against insulting in any form addressed . Social justice and equality isn't about being nice and not saying mean things. Social justice isn't about being nice and polite, because being nice or polite people can be both the oppressor and he oppressed . For example, saying  bad things in a polite way by adding the words sorry and excuse me , doesn't make the meaning any good. For example, if a racist person calls a non-white person the "N word" , but saying it in a polite way by adding respectful  words around , the oppressor makes himself seem nice in order to make people feel safe and let their guard down. As the author Gavin  De Becke said in his book "The Gift Of Fear",that people would intend to harm others often displays niceness towards them in order to make them feel safe and let their guard down. Thinking that social justice is about being nice, is the biggest myth regarding social justice because it is about how free the people are and how much opportunities they are given. Therefor being nice and treating each others politely doesn't serve the people privileges any good. She ha also described how good and nice are not equal to the same understanding, and that the oppressor treating the oppressed person nicely and having the oppressed person react in a nice way doesn't make the situation any less harmful. Thinking that your right has been redeemed by coming back with an insult doesn't change the situation either. Because it is about the privileges given to the people no matter how. If the people stay confused and lost between being good and nice, social justice isn't going to be redeemed because people wont fight to get what they have been denied by the law.

  1. Check moodle for grade. You dont have a main idea. Tumblr is too specific. Your sentences are confusing. And she doesnt talk about safety as much as she talks about shrouding oppressive meaning. Dont give an example from your head. Dont mention Gavin its too specific. Your last few lines stray in meaning from the text. Be careful how you word your summary.
