This text is talking about social justice, and how a revolution for this cause shouldn't be a "nice" one.
The author, Rachel, started her text with an example about insults that are considered non oppressive by people. She talked about the wrong conception that people have when they think that social justice is only about being nice and not insulting others.
After that, Rachel clarifies what social justice is and makes a difference between ethical conduct and polite conduct. Later on there are statements that shows how "nice" people think such as : while acting polite, they are mistreating and abusing others. So these people shouldn't be given credit for their niceness. This is when a new concept ( privilege) is introduced which means that living in a certain area can be an advantage for one that don't depend on the niceness of others around him. TV shows are also included in this social justice matter. In the text, it's mentioned that they reinforce stereotypes in society and are doing more harm than good for social justice. Furthermore, niceness can also be used as a tool by oppressers to control others and stay powerful. The author defines oppression as the act of denying the rights and opportunities of a certain group of people, that's why not being nice doesn't count as an oppression. The readers should now be able to make a difference between good and nice, and how its placing people in danger.
In conclusion, the author is discussing how important social justice is and how people trying to make a change should deal with this matter not by being polite, but by understanding what they are fighting for. That's why the title says " revolution will not be polite".
Check moodle for your grade. The main idea is confusing. And it doesn't reflect the whole text. Don't quote. You misunderstood privilege. TV is too specific a point. Your last sentence is analysis. Don't include interpretations or personal conclusions in the text.
